Apple Nano Vs. iPod Mini

Apple released the smallest iPod yet called the Nano.  The Apple Nano iPod is about the size of a thick hotel key or security pass.  When the Apple Mini came out I bought a 4GB iPod Mini and thought it was great I could carry 900 songs in my pocket.  The Apple Nano takes the iPod to a new level introducing longer battery life, small size and a color screen for photos.

Technical specs on the Apple Nano Vs. iPod Mini deal with size and functionality.  The Apple Nano is considerably smaller in size than the iPod Mini as you can see from the photo below.  The Apple Nano offers 15 hours of battery life compared to the 8 hours you get with the iPod Mini.  The only advantages that the iPod Mini provides are the variety of colors available and the option of a 6GB iPod Mini where the Apple Nano tops out at 4GB.

The Apple Nano introduces the ability to store and display photos on the color display.  The display on the Apple Nano does seem easier to read than the iPod Mini but I never found that to be a problem.  For the price I would not recommend the 2GB Apple Nano.  As an owner of a full 4GB iPod Mini I can say that I'd gladly pay the extra fifty bucks for the extra 2GB that a 4GB Nano would provide.
